UNP supporters query what the situation would be if the party secured power, as Ranil Wickremasinghe, while serving in the Opposition had ignored them.

A group of UNP supporters lined the route in Kadugannawa to welcome the motorcade of the United National Front which was proceeding from Colombo to Kandy. The welcoming ceremony was organised by the UNP Yatinuwara organiser Nihal Gunasekera. They were awaiting the arrival of their leader from 2.00 pm yesterday. However, the motorcade proceeded to Kandy ignoring the ceremony organised by the Kadugannawa supporters to welcome the leaders of the United National Front including Ranil Wickramasinghe.

Our correspondent said they staged a protest obstructing the highway to expressing their resentment to the group which were proceeding in the motorcade to Kandy.
