Multiple characters tell you about the Bell of Silence and how it's be useful in the Limewater Cave, so missing it is the players fault, and you don't need a guide to get it. The same goes for the Gold Locket and the Lucky Silver Coin.

Ark is tame compared to some of the ABSURD stuff in earlier Ys games, where you get no real clues and they just assume you try everything. Like the Silver Sword gotten from a certain tree by using a nut in-front of it.
