  • I'M CZECH AND THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!

  • And we pay for the kids to do this?

  • correction: It's not Zdeněk Lukáš but Jaroslav Krček.

  • @NinielPadma

It sounds so but according to the lyrics I have in my score it is not. Wind in Czech is "vítr". In the score I have, there is "výdr" which has no meaning. I suppose it is just a kind of scat. But it is possible that my score is not correct. If you have vítr in your score, than it is really the wind.

  • @nucleojohny Hey thanks :) now I know what I'm singing haha. (I think the choral version also says something about "the wind made poom poom"? xD)

  • The translation goes like this:

    1. A farmer goes to the mill with four black horses.

    2. When they came to the mill, they asked for the miller.

    3. Hey, miller, where will we put the oat?

    4. Drop it in the room, to my daughter's bedside.

  • This is a Czech folk song. Actually, not so well known. I suppose the best known version is this choral arrangement by Zdeněk Lukáš (a famous Czech choral composer).

    The original lyrics:

    1. Jede sedlák do mlejna, čtyřma koňma vranejma.

    2. Když do mlejna přijeli, na mlynáře se ptali.

    3. Hej vy pane mlynáři, kam se ten oves složí?

    4. Složte ho tam do sence, k mý dceřino postýlce.

  • One of my greatest and fondest memories in Millikin's University Choir is seeing this video for the first time. I miss you all!!!!
