In Professor Alice Quillen's Physics of Music course, students spend the semester exploring the natural world of music by building and testing their own musical instruments. The course is designed to introduce students to physics concepts as they search for explanations for musical and acoustic phenomena.

On Tuesday, Dec. 6, students enrolled in the class put their hard work on display as they serenaded an audience in Goergen Hall with both classical instruments and hand-made instruments created for the course
