Withlacoochee River Electric is a very Bad and Dishonest Company. They don't care about Teddy bear people like me, that have to live pay check by pay check, and when they price gouge during the summer months, Teddy Bear people have a hard time paying their electric bill.

And to answer your comment yes they did threaten to shut me off and add an additional 200 dollar security deposit to my bill. Withlacoochee ELECTRIC IS CROOKED AND DISHONEST! today i contacted them ( after a ph call from them ) and lucky me i got MICHELLE IN THE DADE CITY OFFICE, and we had a bit of a row we did we did !

NOW WRE is going to assess me a " deposit " of $ 665.00, but wait ! them will allow me to pay that deposit over 6 months !! oh lucky me ! the reason ( you ask ) oh it is because it is a " collection ". So I asked MICHELLE IN THE DADE CITY OFFICE, if i havent defaulted why is it a collection action > no answer. so fans, whatta ya think.

Im not real crazy about the Teddy Thing, BUT i do agree that WRE uses some very heavy handed tactics !

The reason for my post is this:

after having WRE for over 3 yrs, thats 36 months to you lame brains, i had three months where i had trouble making my payment ( i was unemployed until 9/12/2011) i contacted MICHELLE IN THE DADE CITY OFFICE, and she allowed ? me to pay the bill on the 15th vs the 14th. i was late and was told that if it happend again i would be assessed a deposit

So my questions to you, are why did you delete aubiedoc2009's comment, and what did you do to WREC?

My family has had WREC for years, and we have never had a problem. And yes, we have had situations where we could not make the full payment on time. There is no price gouge, you just tend to use more energy during the summer, we do live in FL. And are you forgetting that WREC is owned by its customers? It makes me wonder if you are really a WREC customer.

Yep this company is a piece of turd, they actually charge you a fee to pay online as well. And its not like we have any other choice of power company like they do up there in the real states, were restricted to the one closest to us.
