One of the three habaneras that the group sang during the competition in Torrevieja, Spain in 2005

"The competition was closed by the University of the Philippines singing Ambassadors of Quezón City, the Philippines, directed by Edgardo Manguiat. They competed in habaneras with the obligatory piece, " Aunque no te Vi Llegar " from Marta Valdés, and their choice of habanera " Tu " by Sánchez de Fuentes, arranged for choir by Manuel Massotti Littel, and " La Cubana del Manglar ", by Pedro Llabrés and Joaquín Gasca. For the Polyphony Category, they sang " Elí, Elí " by Georgy Bardos, and " Alitaptap " by Chino Toledo."

  • Una master clase de lo que es hacer musica

  • This is not the exact meaning of the comment above. Sorry, hablo Espanol un poco.

  • noooo. i said:

"really? i understood almost all the words. it's that sometimes half the group was singing other words (the men, the women), obviously. anyway the performance was very good."

anyway i hope everyone enjoyed it too

  • Literal Tranlation for your perusal:

does it spoil really? I understood almost all the words. the fact is that sometimes the half of the group was singing other words (the men, the women), obviously. anyway the performance was the best.

  • jaja de verdad? entendi casi todas las palabras. es que a veces la mitad del grupo estaba cantando otras palabras (los hombres, las mujeres), obviamente. de todas formas la actuacion estuvo buenisima.

  • These is so amazing. U cant understand the wordings but it transcends to ur soul---that is best--that is music!

THanks. I guess this batch of UPSA is the best. I could be bias.
