i put on the dress like ty asked me to. i made my way to the lobby like ty asked me to. and i found sabrina pacing nervously. she had changed into a dress as well causing me more confusion. she noticed me and immediately ran over.
"sabrina, what is-" she shushed me with a finger to my lip. she pulled away the scrunchy in my hair and let my hair fall loose. she puffed it up and then placed a rhinestone encrusted headband on my head. i looked at her with scrunched eyebrows. she just rolled her eyes and put her finger to her lips, signaling me to not say or ask anything.
"take off your shoes."
"huh?"
"just take off your shoes nat." she said with a slightly annoyed and harsh tone.
"ok. ok." i kicked off my flip flops and handed them to her. she took them and grabbed my arm and start pulling me along.
"sabrina where are you taking? can you just tell me what is going on?"
"did i not tell you to shush?" i huffed and rolled my eyes. i tried reading the sign boards as she pulled me along to make out where she was taking me but the hallways were a little dim and i couldnt make much out. then she stopped in front of 2 arc doors. i squinted my eyes attempting to read the sign on top of the doors. it started with a "c". i couldnt really see much of the letters. but i noticed a "r" and a "ch" at the back. my brain processed this for a moment before i hit a light bulb.
"is this the hospital's church?"
"mm."
"why are we here? what's going on?" she didnt answer me. she was looking into her phone and doing something. my mind began to burn with different thoughts. what could we possibly be doing at the church? then it hit me. fu..funeral? i grabbed sabrina by her shoulders and forced her to face me.
"i swear to god sabrina, you better tell me what this is all about. why are we at a church of all places? ty was going on about you guys worrying about me and then i get asked to get all formal. is.. is this dad's funeral or something? omg, you-you guys put him to sleep sooner than he was supposed to didnt you!" her eyes widened and she dramatically started shaking her head.
"oh dear god no! no no no!!"sabrina placed her hands on my shoulders.
"natalie, breathe. ok? just breathe, c'mon. eee ooo eee ooo."
"sabrina!" she jumped slightly.
"ok ok, will you just relax please? dad is still very much alive! we didnt kill him or something!" my breathing began to return to it's normal pace. she sighed and held my hands.
"look nat, you know i'm not very good at all this mushy stuff but i have to tell you this. you're my best friend nat. you really are. and there's just no words in the world for me to fully tell you how much of a friend you are to me. i mean, you took me in and treated me like i was part of your family. c'mon, who does that? you're beyond a friend. you're like my.. guardian angel or something. without you or your dad-"
"our dad." i nudged her with a smile which she returned.
"yea. our dad. without you guys, i just.. i dont know how i would have survived. i think getting to know you has seriously been the highlight of my life. and for that, i owe you a lot."
"sabrina c'mon, why are you getting so sentimental? you dont owe me anything. you're my friend. my sister. i would do this and more for you." she nodded as her eyes began to fill with tears. i wiped her eyes with my thumb.
"hey c'mon, dont cry sabby." she giggled and shook the tears away.
"look.. whether you allow me to or not, i do owe you a lot and i want to do as much as i can to make sure you're happy."
"ok.."
"tonight. this is just one of the things i can do for you." i shook my head not fully understanding what she was saying and opened my mouth to say something but she stopped me.
"though you didnt say it out loud, i hope i know you enough to understand what's going on in your mind. and i really hope that tonight, you'll get what you always wanted."
"sabby, i am so confused. what's so special about tonight?"
"you-"
"natalie.." we were interrupted by my dad, who was being pushed in in a wheelchair by michael. they were both dressed in tuxes. dad weakly but independently got up from the wheelchair and straightened out his jacket. he stroked my hair gently and smiled at me.
"you look beautiful honey." i smiled still completely confused.
"thanks dad.." sabrina squeezed my hand and i looked at her.
"you'll find out what's so special about tonight in a minute." she smiled wide and gave me a tight hug before grabbing michael's hand and running off. i turned to dad with scrunched eyebrows.
"dad, will you at least just tell me what is going on?" he smiled and without a word he took my hand and secured it around his crooked arm. and just as i was about to open my mouth to ask him again, i heard a familiar and common tune coming from the church. the doors in front of me opened up. flowers, candles, ty, my family and a priest...

YES I knew it. Thank you so much. in a previous chapter I was asking or I think begging you to at least let Joe be there for nats wedding before he dies. I don't want him to die but if your gonna kill him at least I got what I wanted. Joe on nats wedding. Thank you again for doing it. I was so worried that it was not going to happen. You made my day :D
