  • @coochiemudlo02 during the 80s the liberals supported almost all of labor's right wing economic reforms because they knew they were good for the economy. now do you hear me bragging about how keating stole all the ideas of howard who set the stage in the 80s for the floating of the dollar? he was the one pushing for it and had been working on it for almost a decade.

just because menzies and chifley agreed in some areas does not give chifley the right to claim 23 years of liberal prosperity.

  • @coochiemudlo02 why do you think labor embraced neoliberal reforms in the 80s so strongly? because they finally got it through their heads that it is not the role of the government to run businesses and it tends to WASTE MONEY and slow down the entire economy.

  • @coochiemudlo02 read what i wrote, i said that he was only in charge for 4 years after the end of the war overseeing the recovery. when there is a war on you tend to focus on that rather than domestic issues.

actually mate its you who has to educate yourself. after the war chifley was attempting to undertake an aggressive policy of industry nationalisation that would have severely hurt our economy.

  • @AussiePolitics For a start, Chif had 9 years to set up the post war economy, not 4. He was treasurer for 5 years before he was ever P.M. Menzies liked his ideas enough to use a good deal of them, Commonwealth Bank & socialised universal medical care amongst them. Even Ming admitted that! For his first term of his second Govt. Mings economic program was at least partly inherited from Chif. They were actually quite good friends and Ming cried when announcing Chifs death So yeah, EDUCATE YSELF

  • @coochiemudlo02 show me proof of how it is EVER possible for a government in office for only 4 years after the war has ended to somehow create endless limitless growth under menzies. and quite frankly I liked most of the reforms of the hawke/keating era mainly because i was happy that labor had taken itself economically as right wing as the liberals - who supported the reforms.

  • @coochiemudlo02 chifley wanted to nationalise the banks among other incredibly stupid policies that got him booted out of office. oh and don't be stupid enough to compare labor under chifley to labor under hawke/keating. hawke moved the party massively to the right, embracing privatisation and free market reforms - the opposite of what chifley would have wanted.

  • @coochiemudlo02 educate myself? you're the idiot who made the stupid comment that chifley somehow magically set the economy up for 23 years. what an absurd statement. and hawke/keating had the most incredibly stupid economic policy in the 80s of centrally indexing wages to inflation. they ended up dropping it because they realize how much they'd cocked up.

  • @bubbiebubbles There's your problem...you believe in fairy tales like god! No wonder Howard sucked you in so easily.

  • @AussiePolitics You display your ignorance along with your bigotry! Educate yourself before you look even more foolish! Chif set that fraud Menzies up just the same as Keating set Howard up, with brilliance the electorate was too silly to see! A bit like you really. Howard was a poisonous dwarf and an embarrassment to all DECENT Australians and whenever I need cheering up, I just watch his crushing defeat in this video! MAKES ME FEEL GREAT! ALL HAIL THE DRAGON SLAYER--THE GREAT KEVIN RUDD!!!

  • @coochiemudlo02 first of all you fool no-one could set up the economy for the 23 years the liberals were in power after menzies won the election. the economy was kept stable through good management.

that's the problem with labor - they also fuck things up when they're in office and as soon as things get better after they lose they say 'yeah that was all us'
