Imagine a portable recorder that also does video - that's the VideoTrack, but its main claim to fame is great audio quality, with two condenser mics. You can use it to upload videos like, well, this one to YouTube and the like, or transfer the video/audio stream to a computer and do editing with programs like Sony Vegas or Apple's iMovie.

  • When it comes to great quality the little unit is found wanting, but for what you pay for it it really isn't as bad as many are attempting to make it out to be. It's nothing anywhere near my $400 Canon HD video camera, but come on you'd be comparing a $400 cam against a $50 or less cam. I like it and am by no means displeased with it. I don't like the lack of ffw or rewind on the unit itself. Once you load it onto you pc or laptop you have your ffw and rewind.

  • man this is exactly what I been looking for! Thanks for the info!

  • @AmunReOfDaBronx Thank you for your feedback.

  • Okay. Dan Raden. Your presentation makes you look like a used car saleman. The way your eyes shift when talking about certain things that "we" do, etc. Also, I couldn't help from noticing that in your other hand is none other than an M-Audio MicroTrack. What gives? You're trying to sell the Alesis as a top quality recorder and you're recording the audio for this video on a MicroTrack. So you've basically convinced me that the Alesis is, in fact, a POS as DonaldDemon comments below.

  • My suggestion is stay away from this POS. I just bought it and the video looks terrible and the sound is thin and harsh. Not worth the money at all. My crappy cell phone takes better pictures and video! I'm returning it asap.

  • And yet another useless shit-review with no actual demo, sound, or features.

  • What are these people thinking?

HD 720P say at 60 FPS would of been Smart Choice. They Copied Zoom.

$20 More would Cover the Video upgrade.

  • If Alesis had done their homework, they'd have gone for HD video. Looks like they've copied the Zoom Q3,..( which has'nt got HD either, incidentally ).A massively unforgiveable oversight by both companies in my opinion.
