King David Kalākaua brought Hula back to the Hawaiians. He is remembered for this, among many other things every year at the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival, held in Hilo, Hawaiʻi. You can watch it on streaming video on the Kitv channel 4 website April 3, 4, and 5th 2008, beginning at 6:00 Hawaiian standard time. http://www.kitv.com/index.html The two women at the end of the video were instrumental in the Hawaiian cultural revival that began in the 1970s. Mary Kawena Pukui and Maiki Aiu Lake.
