I took the boys and girl 8^) to the park to run today and thought I would snag some video, since it has been a while. They were doing the usual romp and stomp, then they found a squirrel in a compromised position. Bud was the one who caught it and he let out a yip when the squirrel but a hole in his lip. It was a fatal move for the squirrel though. Bud is all play and he could not figure out why his newest playmate would not get up and run again. He was kind of depressed for a while. Anyway, ignore the dead squirrel if you like and just enjoy the dogs at large.

  • did he eat it? lol those dogs are gorgeous and you are good owner

  • No, he is a gentle boy and seemed remorseful that the squirrel was dead. I think what happened was he caught the squirrel and got scratched on the nose and bit on the lip. He then chomped back, the rest is history. He is all play, and another Animal Shelter Rescue, he had less that 24 hours to live with a severe respiratory infection. His previous owner would not buy the medication to help him recover. 405 dollars, worth every penny! We drove 800 miles to adopt. He has a magical personality.

  • you are awesome for that.. God loves you he made animals too... hey is there a website where you can rescue dogs in their finnal minutes or hours ... like you know ,, maybe they are about to put them to sleep..?

  • I found him through a rescue group, Echodogs, they take all kinds of German Shepherds, but their main focus is on the white ones. Bud was a calender boy two years in a row for their group. The alpha male with his tail over his back all the time is another rescued dog, hurricane victim from Alabama.

  • looks like the dogs had a lot of fun.

what do you mean by "it was in a compromised position"?

did you clean bud's wounds up? squirrel bites can be pretty nasty.

  • That little foxy tail was on the ground instead of safe in his tree. When he got caught between those three white shepherds, he was in a compromised position.

Bud's all healed up now, I can barely see the wound. He got a dose of triple antibiotic jel when we got home and again the next morning and night.

Life is just one big game for Bud! He is all about the play....
