your snare drum looks a little low i think you should lift everything just a little but
-
what pedal are you using?

Everything is great, but the kick sounds pretty dreadful!. I would try tuning the bottom head of that floor tom so the top and bottom are equal, rather than the usual floor tom setup where the batter is tighter and the reso is loosened right down. Might get rid of that dead sloppy thud to something a little more tonal, but still musical.

Are you sure that's an 18"? Because I have one of those brackets and I tried this on a 90s Ludwig 18" and it's too short to fit on the legs.

thank you

I'm doin the same thing but with a double bass pedal
-
That's cool

cool idea, this is all you need

I really like this, i think im going to get a cheap 18" floor tom and build one. I think you could proably put a coated twin ply head on the bottom with a little bit dampening to get more of a kick sound and a single on top to use as a tom. Also if you have a mapex kit like me you could mount the rack tom on the floor tom too.
where did you get it and what kind of snare is that exactly? i like it

@Kirchenschlager It is a PDP 805 10x6 snare. I bought it at Guitar Center for $80 4 years ago and I'd swear that they still had the same drum 6 mo. ago but I did a little searching and to my surprise, they seem to be unavailable. Grestch, Sonor, ddrum and a few others make a similar drum with the same mounting bracket.

Too bad Slingerland discontinued the Expresso kit. The kit in this video is close to
the idea of the Expresso kit.
