Part 2 of 2. An 8 pedal overdrive shootout. Fuzz Face clone, Zendrive 1 at 12 volts, Tim at 12 volts, SIB Varidrive on gain setting with JJ ECC81 tube, Menatone King of the Britains (newest version), Keeley modded Boss Blues Driver, MI Audio Blue Boy Deluxe, Danelectro FAB Metal, Ibanez TS7 modded to TS808 specs. Baseline rig sound is a Prairiewood Les Paul with Wolfetone Dr. Vintage pickups running through 2 bypass loops and 3 delay pedals (one Memory Lane is always on), into a Holland AC30 clone (in half power mode)into a 65 Amps cab with a Celestion Alnico Blue and a Celestion G12H30. No recording devices, just whatever the camera picks up. Hopefully this will help people a bit when choosing between overdrive pedals. Thanks!

  • What's the fuzzface clone?

  • It's some circuit built in an electrical box, by ebay member 'teststrikego.' I've never been able to contact him afterwards, or get any more info on the pedal. Sorry about that! Cheers!

  • sorry for being stupid, pal but, you can actually control the stomp boxes with another "stage board"???

    That's what I'm seeing.

    Thanks.

  • Yep! And no that's not stupid...I just didn't explain that. Those are Loop-Master boxes that actually hardwire the pedals in and out of the signal path with the click of a true bypass switch. Great to reduce tone sucking when the pedal is not in use, and also great to be able to have a control board right in front of you. Thanks for watching!

  • The Danelectro FAB Metal is the one that cuts through. The other pedals sound more similar to each other. Great sounds all around, though.

  • Interesting! It's always cool to hear different people's tastes in overdrives. It's not my personal favorite, but a lot of people just love it. Very cool. Do you play a FAB Metal?

  • great vid man!, i have a fab metal and i want to throw it out the window, my main od is an sd-1, but the bleed meh, what u recommend, keeley mod or analogman, i hate the new tubescreamer sound, but maybe the 808 will sound good, what you think?

  • Again, sorry guys, youtube's file compression system makes the pedals sound like they have a volume drop. They don't. hehe Thanks!
