A Narrated 38-Mile Hang Gliding Flight - 2/16/2010

From Kagel Mtn in Sylmar, CA, along the San Gabriel Mountains, past Big Tujunga Wash, over Mt Lukens, Mt Lowe, Mt Wilson, Mt Harvard, Monvoria Peak, then over the San Gabriel River Dam and Glendora Mtn, then out over San Dimas, gliding West to LaVerne and setting down on the 17th fairway of Marshall Canyon Golf Course. 2hrs, 11min on my 2009 Wills Wing T2C 144 hang glider, equipped with a GoPro HD Hero camera.

this narration was very cool; thank you for producing this. seems like a lot of planning is involved to figure out your path over the 38 miles. how do you pre-plan this? with a computer?

also, very cool top map at the end, showing the glide path. what program is this? looks like you plug in your GPS to this, to get the path over ground & elevation?

@brice7698 Thanks. There was no pre-planning other than having a driver follow me on 2-meter radio. The 3D animation is done w/ SeeYou by Naviter and I screen capture it w/ Fraps.

I just hiked glendora mountain, beautiful view from up there! Also, I think I might have seen you! I was eating In-n-out around that time when I saw a blue hang glider, it was in the afternoon.

@nealshireman It's very likely that you saw me on 2/16/2010 or 2/17/2010 from Foothill and the 57. My favorite spots now are Klatch Coffee and Philly's Best on Arrow Hwy and 57. Welcome aboard!

@NMERider :)) no-no! with "bedtime voice" i actually meant the deep voice we men use when talking to a nice lady over a glass of wine at candle light. we can call it also "james bond" voice :P. not bad at all. i just noticed and found it amusing. congrats on the flights man!
