She sounds much more like Karen on other songs. "The radio's playing Superstar" in the lyrics here is her tip of the hat to Karen.

@aleshafiandaca I couldn't agree with you more. In fact I can't really hear Karen Carpenter, but her style rather than her voice are so like Joni during the Blue period. "On my way Home" and "Healer" are also reminiscent of Joni.

Sounds like Dusty Springfield on this one. Like I said elsewhere - if you're old enough you may remember Astrud Gilberto (Girl From Iponema) - so reminiscent of her voice.
