You are very naive to assume that lennon would go anywhere other than down hill.. not because of Yoko but for the same reason as every other rock star - they are only overflowing with enthusiasm and energy at the beginning - then when they turn to drugs they lose direction..

Zappa was the exception..

Yeah... John just wanted to do so. And how did he prepare himself? Did he take time out and learn to play piano or guitar better? Did he spend hours and days working on sound concepts? Try going to a concert of traditional japanese music and imposing your western style on them and see if they call you "ahead of your time" or "brilliant"... no they'd say who is this rude a***hole who can't figure out how to play our music? well not TOTALLY insensitive to what others think. I'm pretty sure John & Yoko were pleased that all those Beatles fans continued to think they needed to spend billions of dollars on Beatles merchandise. Thank God YOUTUBE has cured us of that need!!! But I'm sure Yoko fingers her string of pearls and chuckles a bit at those whose thoughts she cares so little about .. just as all wealthy grifters do.

If you were a friend of Lennon you'd have been in Yoko's bullseye. She was a personal predator and took Lennon for the long ride. Lennon was in a bad enough way to fall for it. Too bad.. she broke up a great partnership that might have repaired itself. She's just like Sarah Palin or any one of 1000 grifters out there waiting to pounce on the unsuspecting.

She came along and turned on this one guy and it made her billions. First rate grift.

We indulged every ego back then..always being told that the artist must express himself.  Look what it did to rock and roll. I suppose Axl Rose's brilliance is so overwhelming we can't hear it.
