Bikers Beware of Cagers!

Testing a camera lens and mic, I captured a few potential risks bikers face.

Earlier this summer, a biker was critically hit and airlifted off this highway, I was nearly hit in the same spot an hour later. Now watch a carload of teens blow right through that same spot minutes into my camera testing!

This was nothing more than a first run camera test, yet within 10 minutes there was enough to justify documenting it. Any suggested violations may be inaccurate, but serve only to emphasize AWARENESS.

My experience consistently shows that during a 1-2 hour ride, a minimum of 3 drivers will force me into emergency braking or swerving to avoid a collision, most are talking on a cell phone, turning left while looking right.

@thepeahead987 To increase reaction time if you need to slow down quickly so you don't get rear ended by a tailgater.

As a followup, soon after this video was posted several intersections were improved to include widening, addition of turn lanes, and traffic lights. These improvements helped, but driver carelessness is still a problem in many areas.

I like the genral idea of this video, i just hope you had a mounted /fixed camera rather than a hand held. Would have been slightly hypocritical otherwise.

People are gonna talk on their cells while driving buddy. No law is gonna stop it. I hate it as much as the next guy. But you got to be smarter than teh average dipshit behind the wheel. My advise is, learn to live with it as I have.

i give an especially large gap (literally like 6-7 seconds) to motorcyclists. but i have a huge problem with these guys... 90% of them don't center to their lane, they come too close to my vehicle, & often straddle the line.

they wanna put more distance between them & other cars right? well put some distance between your 3 and 9 too!

also, bikers think they can do whatever they want, i get cut off by them more than anyone simply because they can fit easier. cagers aren't the only problem.
