A chaque fois que j'écoute cette musique qui paraît être céleste, qu'aucun mot ne peut qualifier tant sa beauté me fait frissonner, j'éprouve toujours la même émotion. Mes sentiments demeurent inchangés à l'égard de cette personne qui se reconnait maintenant sans l'ombre d'un doute.

je remercie aussi l'orchestre et le maitre Domingo à la voix inimitable.

@bluechazzan In 1979 when this was recorded, turtlenecks were in vogue. The 70s were, though, the ugliest decade for clothing. That said, this is a beautiful recording. Domingo's vocal tone, interpretation, intonation, and technique are marvelous. People might want to compare this to Neil Shicoff's version, also on YouTube.

Cette sublime interprétation de l'oeuvre de Jacques Halévy par le Maestro DOMINGO me donne une telle émotion que je ne peux délivrer le sentiment qui est mien à son écoute. Je remercie humblement la personne qui me l'a fait connaître qui se reconnaitra certainement et pour qui je voue un amour infini.

Like the singing too. Much more drama to his performance than Alagna's on youtube. Turtleneck bothers me immensely though. A scarf could possibly have been excused.

I remember watching this on PBS in '79. Granted, I was just a kid then(19 years old), but my main thought was that Domingo looked a lot like Mario Lanza! All these years later, I'm struck by Domingo's rich, vibrant tone and fervent delivery. The turtleneck bothers me not at all. And forgive, please, my adolescent Lanza-izing:)--
