Very good advice. I'm having to do my first Press Release (for a UK charity) and it's no joke trying to work out how to make people read it. This was much appreciated!
Very eye opening, I think it is possible my releases are getting a bit crusty around the edges. I thank you for sparking my cybertron cells into high gear.
Jeff, I loved that one! Reminds me why I disliked out "formal Press Release" writers for Special Olympics and they never got us anywhere! A good reminder for me too! Writing the 'story" that you can just see a reporter writing ...I must do it too for a new venture in real estate "life care."
I agree with the comment that this was one of the best videos. Even if you have some years experience in PR, it's easy to fall into the habit of writing ho-hum releases.
This is one of the most helpful videos I've seen. Press Releases are so last century. You are absolutely correct about that. And counseling the person who wants to get their story covered to write that story first themselves is so sound, so practical, so very helpful. Keep up the excellent work you do every week.
