Jesus isn't nice. He's a bad ass. Is loving your neighbor, treating each other with respect, and thanking the One for laying down His life bad? Does someone who doesn't love his neighbor, keeps being immoral, and doesn't thank the One who gave us a crack at eternal life justified in going to heaven. If everyone made it to heaven, He wouldn't have come. He was tough and nasty enough to be tortured, killed & resurrected so we could enjoy life forever. God gave us free will. Our choice.

"He didn't & doesn't force or beg people to follow him." But he does say that they'll burn eternally forever if they don't follow him. Hmmm, that sounds nice doesn't it?

mrmagoo662, I'll have to check out Amr Zeit. It is interesting to see what all is out there. As far as religion goes, when Jesus comes again, Ya won't find Him in the religion section. He will be front page news. Good talkin to you

I understand. Don't get me wrong, I grew up in the church. I guess that's why as I got older, my questions never got answered logically. So when I googled American Zeitgeist & watched it, the questions that I needed answered where there, and that's why I'm anti-religion. So, yeah, I think that it's worth watching. I'm not trying to convert or make anyone question their beliefs; just have an open mind. That's all.

mrmagoo662, Hello. No, I haven't seen Zeitgeist. Is it worth watching? Only my opinion of why Jesus' story stuck is because it's real. He rose from the dead. To gain eternal life you don't have to blow something up, murder other people, accumulate great wealth, recruit a certain number of people, or look a certain way. Anyone can follow Christ. He didn't & doesn't force or beg people to follow him. He says come along for the ride and grab eternal life. Many have polluted His teachings

There is also documented proof that the story of Jesus was told thousands of years before him from many different parts of the world and from many different. Why did the story of Jesus stick and not the others. Have you seen American Zeitgeist? Just curious.

mrmagoo662, How does a country the size of New Jersey, whose people have been persecuted throughout history, have the 2nd highest rate of start up companies in the world next to the U.S. They are a world leader in science and technology. People thought the US had unprecedented growth in 200 years. Look what Israel has done in 60.

mrmagoo662, Agreed that religion is a thing, but God and following Christ's teaching are real. Incredible, you think nothing about the bible can be proven. The event of Jesus' crucifixion, death, and resurrection were written 400 years before he was born in the book of Isaiah. There is documented proof that the Romans persecuted Christians. The bible says the Jews would return home to Israel again and rise up. In 1948 Israel became a nation. It is a nuclear super power today.

I respect religious people for their dedication to the whole religious thing, but nothing about the bible can be proven. No tangibility. No decendents nothing to prove what transpired back then but the bible. Even it had to be re-written by man just as the old testament was.
