  • are they the lights that come with gt's? coz i have the orange indicator not the clear ones, i want them! lol

  • pretty much impossible that you gained 28hp just by changing the catback on a non turbo Forester. Most STIs and newer WRXs carrying the new 2.5 block make about 20-35 hp more with a complete turboback (downpipe +catback) and some tuning or reflashing of the ECU.

  • S turbo was a 2.0 with 172 bhp, since then the 02- models have had both 2.0 and 2.5 engines with over 200bhp

  • The Forester and the Impreza have basically the same engine. It should be quieter than this one. This one sounds like it's had exhaust work done.

  • This is actually a 2.5. It puts down 165 HP and 165 ft/lb of torque brand new from the factory. I'm not sure if the specs have changed inbetween 1998 and 09.

  • an impreza backbox shud fit the same!

  • Nice sound!

Does anyone know what the output of this engine is when its stock? Automatic EJ20 turbo, yes?

Just got a similar engine for our legacy, but i cant find specs online. Thanks!

  • i have a 99 forester and my stock exhaust is gonna be on its way out soon, ive had trouble finding performance exhausts for it.. do you any suggestion on where i should look?

  • The Slynkster...

This is what my Foz aspires to be. :)

  • I have a 1999 Forester S, and i just installed a Remus exhaust, they really are the best! You get that really deep subaru sound... mine now sounds like an impreza STI! What I basically did was to change the exaust line to a 2.5' stainless still one, with a sports catalyst, and a single round universal muffler from Remus. They are a bit expensive but are definitely worth it! Another good thing is that they are not too loud and make you gain aprox 28hp...
