Old Xantia 2.0i 8V cold start after one week with 10W-40 Maxlife oils. Start without block heater in -22 °C after one week sitting.

  • No start before. I think that the gauge will rise litlle bit, when you turn ingnition on.

    I remember long time ago, when I started Peugeot 309 in -35 °C without block heater too...just normal here in Finland!

  • @carman698 Of course the STOP ligth is on. It takes a while until normal hydraulic pressure is reached. Haven't you ever started a car when it's cold?

  • 10w40 oil in -22 cold starts is definately NOT a good idea! you should put in at least 5w40!

  • this is my first car, citroen haves very good engine in old models

  • Try to start diesel in -22C :D

    if your car is ok (spark,injection system and etc.) you can star it at -30 without problem.

  • @Mastercock12 Yes so is mine, but something failed to learn when you payed no attention in school in Western Sydney is that countries closer to the equator are warmer than those close to poles :D
