it seems to shift at 4200...Not that bad but It just seems like you can get a little more from the engine. Anything over 4700 and you dont get any more power and its probably pretty bad for the engine

tyler its shifting to soon into 3rd (i think its third). Get it to shift at 4500 (or 5000, mine does 4700 sometimes)

I just purchased a 1983 Mercedes 300d Turbo diesel and two big problems are that the sunroof is leaking and it doesn't turn off when you turn the key off. Do any of you guys have any ideas about these things? If so email me or reply to my comment @stonesusong@yahoo.com

yeah the 240 auto is scary slowww. it'll get you killed in dallas traffic.

65 hp and they are fast enough. shifts just as it should, '85 has 2.88 ratio rear end were '84 and under had 3.07 rearend so higher rev's in the auto shift. wish mine was an 85.or i could find a low milage 2.88 .
