Ronald Reagan on adoption and abortion

Oppressing women by calling them to do the greatest act a person can perform...bearing life? No. The opposite is true here. Ripping a life from inside a woman...planned or unplanned...rape or otherwise...oppresses and damages the woman to a far greater extent than most realize. Abortion destroys at least two lives unless the mother finds healing. Women who have had abortions suffer greatly. That is oppression. I thank God my wife was adopted and not aborted. She is my life.

Yet 14 million children live in poverty inAmerica. The great liie that all pro lifers push is that they "want" anyone.

@JoJo90625 Wow, how pro-life of you! It's clear you value all life, from conception to theocracy-sanctioned death. I'm sure Jesus is smiling upon you for your compassionate heart and your non-hypocritical way of life.

@ningy92 In 1983, President Reagan wrote an essay for the Human Life Review entitled: Abortion and the Conscience of the Nation. I don't know if it's available on line or elsewhere.
