Working with your firearm at a shooting competition isn't only a great way to get to know your weapon, it's also a great way to get to know other shooters. Whether you prefer a pistol or a rifle, shooting on your feet or on a horse, these competitions have something to offer everyone. The Beginner's Guide to Shooting Competitions series takes you through a variety of matches to help you find an event that's right for you.
In this episode we take a close look at the biathlon rifle and how it is specialized to this specific sport.
US Ski Team member Annelies Cook tells you why the biathlon rifle is so very different than anything else on the market.

  • She keeps calling her magazines 'clips'!

  • @cofeeandonuts

Look up Anschutz 1827 B or Anschutz Fortner

These are a little pricier than a nice bolt-action Savage or Marlin or even a full-blown all-custom Ruger 10/22.

  • When Ms. Cook talks about clicks, she is talking about the sight adjustments. There are two knobs on the site seen at 1:46. This allows for easy adjustment up/down and left/right. When turning each knob you feel a "click.' Believe she states for each click the aim point is moved the diameter of a bullet. This allows for siting in the site to allow for wind.

  • @lukas21487504konter Bro I messed up haha! This is what clicks are: Clicks are a military term for kilometers!

  • @whitehawk1997 Oh okay.

  • @lukas21487504konter No it's "clips" You know like to reload your weapon? It is the little box that holds all the bullets also known as Mags or Magazines :D So they load up their gun with the magazine! Hope I helped if you still don't understand I will try to phrase it differently :)

  • I'm german and i don't have unterstand everything. What does she mean with "clicks"??

I know that it's to correct the shots in windy conditions.. But what are these "clicks"?

Sorry for my bad english ;).

  • @BigSean1992 Triggers moove 2 milimeters and are very light to touch. offcourse they are adjustable..Triggers are so fine if you hit the butstock with your wrist the gun can go off, but as she said the only time ammo is in is when they are actualy shooting it.

  • @TMHonfire102

So im not the only one who noticed that.
