I remember seeing this movie at a bar in a remote part of Costa Rica that showed movies once a week on Laserdisc. There was no moon that night and no streetlights for my 2-mile walk back to my bungalo, all I had was my little maglite ans I have seldom felt so frightened as I did on that long dark walk home...and there aren't even any lions IN Costa Rica LOL

so true... the fact that these events actually took place makes the film even more shocking... and unlike all those ridiculous horror films made for teenagers (which are all more or less the same), this one is made to be watched by adults

Also, it captures the spirit of Africa very well... at least in the way it used to be back in the days of the British Empire

One of my fav childhood memories is watching this movie with my dad (which was frequently lol). No movie has created the same dread for me that this one did. every time my dad asked if I wanted to watch it I begged him not to, but then couldn't help myseld when he insisted xD

@lococoyote1992 I have seen them in Chicago many times. They were made into rugs for a time before they were stuffed so they're smaller than they were originally. Very cool movie!
