he ran for almost 17,000 yds in his career, and almost 7,000 of them were on .500 or under Bears teams....he took all that punishment every week with no hope of making the playoffs for many seasons. he never bitched, complained, or wanted a trade - he played every game at 110% even if it was a lost cause because he was loyal to his team and he never quit - thats why he's the BEST..take that Lebron James

I was born and bred a Packers fan. I watched this guy eat my beloved Packers alive on many occasions. He was so good, I would find myself actually rooting for him! I never told my father that, lol. But after Walter died I finally told my dad I secretly rooted for Walter (even when he was playing GB) know what my dad said? "Son, so did I."
