Flite Test - REVIEW
Video Transmitters 2.4GHz vs 900MHz
A Hobby King sponsored segment.

With the ever increasing popularity of FPV flying, the video transmission equipment has become very affordable. Watch as Josh and Josh test two popular systems (2.4GHz vs 900MHz) from Hobby King to see what kind of distance can be achieved.

  • Did anyone notice Josh Scott picking his nose at 4:04?

  • Agreed! Ground tests don't translate well to range in the air! I've flown two miles away and back, over a thousand feet high without a single frame of video lost, only to have to signal drop out almost completely on landing approach when I get close to the trees and house... ;)

  • You guys should talk about 1.2 and 5.8 later. At least over here 900mhz is a huge nono and 2.4ghz is out of the question since most people fly with 2.4.

  • @LatvianRC 4 miles is 6.4 km

  • @LatvianRC

eu, beidz taisīt latviešus par debīliem! Sarēķini tak! Kas tu 2. klasē mācies?

  • um how much is 4. miles I am from Latvia How much it is in km?

  • hi could you get adam to do a vid on how to make the clover and 4 leaf tx and rx antenna???

  • @smorgardsboard We just reviewed the Hangar 9 P-51 Mustang (nitro) a few weeks ago.

  • The hobbyking fpv patch antenna is a really poor patch antenna. It only just gets a bit further than an omni. Being a "supposed" 14dbi means with a 11 dbi advantage you should get at least 3 times the distance minimum, each 3dbi extra doubles distance.

  • you guys are really using low cost systems lol

  • ...that was stressful!
