Synopsis
In conjunction with the 2008 Kuala Lumpur International Film Festival this week (not really, heh), we talk to film producer Lorna Tee about the way forward for the Malaysian indie film movement.
Having produced many local indie theatre, music and film projects over the last decade before moving to Hong Kong to develop regional film company Focus Films and Variety Asia, Lorna speaks with us about the need to further develop the industry - engaging audiences, and making sustainable, commercial films, amongst other things.
Lorna Tee is the General Manager of Irresistible Films, a new film production company based in Hong Kong supporting new filmmakers. Her film credits as producer include award-winning Malaysian new wave films such as The Beautiful Washing Machine, Rain Dogs and Before We Fall In Love Again.
