I remember being a student at Bonita Park Elementary School in Arcadia in the late 1970s. (It's now known as Serendipity School). It's located next to the tracks of the proposed Gold Line Extension.
I was always distracted and somewhat frightened by the noise and shaking when an Amtrak or Santa Fe train rumbled by.
I hope that it will not be an issue to Serendipity or any other school along the route. The way these cars operate, it shouldn't be. They are nowhere near as heavy as those dies
I am very enthusiastic about the Gold Line extension.
This is a great first step in alleviating the notorious congestion on the 210 freeway and makes commuting to Los Angeles from, say, Riverside much more practical than it is right now.
I wish it would go faster, but now I have a greater respect for what is involved. It's not the Panama Canal, but it ain't easy either.
Thanks for the information. I have a much greater understanding of the Goldline extension construction and how I might be impacted. The video explanation is well appreciated.
What a well done video! Really well produced. No platitudes, to the point, interesting, good graphics. I'm really impressed. Whoever did it should get hired to do this for all Metro projects. It's really a new standard.

I wish every public construction project did a video like this to inform residents and commuters what's going on. Thanks!
