@peterp21 This was actually very close to the end of the AWA/NWA relationship which worked many shows together. I think this is very close to the road warriors end as AWA champs. They lost the belts in Sept of 85' the last AWA/NWA show was in the summer of 86' even after Wrestlerock.

@peterp21 They were just one of those who worked where they wanted. It was nothing for them to be under contract in two or three areas at one time. That is just how much everyone wanted them. That is why the current Raw GM, John Laurinaitis, has a job that exceeds the only job he ever qualified for, selling hot dogs. Everybody wanted the Road Warriors, and with his brother being Animal, everyone hired John with the hope of drawing the Warriors to their area.

Now what was the deal with them being AWA champs but wrestling in NWA? Was this before the two promotions started working together with PWUSA? Or were the LOD just that badass that they worked wherever they wanted?
