phew! that was amazing...

O forget Shelley (and the rest on Hyperion for that matter), this one alongside Ponti, is by far the best. The Hyperion Romantic Series lacks good pianists and needs inspiriation...

This is AMAZING. The best I have heard from Berezosvky so far. :D

wow. Might even be better than Weissenberg's! And certainly better than the rather stale Howard Shelley version that i own right now.

absolutely stunning

This is an astonishing performance. Berezovsky's choice of voicing makes this performance unique. So many layers of texture fighting for supremacy and he always seems to choose the right one to bring out.

Endidng pp theme is so beautyful..Beresovsky here an excellent musician
Bravo Boris, for many thrilling moments in this very "live" performance. It's hard to imagine many listeners remaining indifferent with this level of dedication and mastery of the many elements involved. This should win many new admirers for this wonderful, yet elusive work. Thank you for posting it.

The whole sonata is powerfully and passionately portrayed - this performance finds Beresovsky at his most persuasive I think. It's odd how the first of Rachmaninov's sonatas is so well represented on YouTube given its relative rarity in live performance. Anyway, thanks a million!
