  • experiencing the spiritual world is pretty convincing for me.

  • @HappyGoat75 How can you be certian that the "spiritual world" that you are experiencing isn't some form of delusion?

  • If the Noid's plausible, who CARES who thought of him?

God might be concerned with man in ways we can't even fathom..

You can't reject scripture due to internal contradictions any more than you can reject relativity & quantum theory as they contradict conventional wisdom & each other.

Scripture, unlike those science theories, contradicts empirical observation & shows signs of being baseless mythology, and THAT'S why we reject it.

  • @drunkagnostic You missed the point. the Noid ISN'T plausible.

Also, you can't compare scripture to a scientific theory. The internal contradictions of a scientific theory can be resolved by modifying the theory, you can't re-write the bible.

  • im agnostic because no one knows and i will let my kids choose when i have kids i really dont care it matters on what you think i wont deny my children and i will go to there marrage i just want to think what i think and what they love

  • @pps234 Yes, but I believe that agnosticism only applies to Deist and Pantheist positions. Religions make specific claims about their gods that can be tested against evidence. For this reason, I'd say that Abrahamic religion, Hinuism, Zoroastrianism etc. are all complete and utter bullshit. All human religions are completely fabricated. If someone want's to believe in a higher power, that's OK. But as soon as they try to claim what this god wants/thinks, I have to raise the bullshit flag.

See we are approaching some kind of end. To me time itself is as vast as space so what secrets lay within shall remain a mystery. But there is a problem with infinity, if time was infininte then how did it start, another catch 22 mind fck. Infinity itself seems impossible.

  • @Cybopath ; That's one of the things I love about Carl Sagan ... he was very much open to life in other parts of the universe however we have yet to find it, maybe we never will ... the universe is much to vast ... I can imagine what Christians would say if extraterristrials landed here and never heard of Jesus! that would be a real kick in the ass ! Of course they would make up lies that the et's are from satanic forces or some retarded shit like that ...

  • @nogogma

I think the Alien example is more valid than I thought. Many people believe that we are not alone in the universe yet there is not one shred of proof, saying there is however doesn't mean we believe isntantly in Chewbaca or Predator (Man made fiction).

  • @nogogma

A belief by definition is the absence of knowledge but pure guess work, however educated it may be. My answer simply is I am not in the position to say. I doubt very much however it is like anything any human has cooked up, we once thought the earth was flat, the sun revolved around the sun and at that time we believed we where right, nay we Knew!

  • '''I have never seen an Alien but I do hold the logic that life somewhere else in the universe could exists. '''''

So do I .... Life on other planets makes more sense than a God that can't even be rationally defined.

  • @Cybopath ; So what is your answer to the god question then? Do you believe there is a God or do you not believe? I'm not asking what you know.

  • @nogogma

"It's a fallacy and it's worthless" Real open mind there you know Extremist Muslims would think the exact same of Christianity. And you all think your one belief is right and everyone else is wrong. Narrow mindedness at it's best.

  • @nogogma

The understanding of God is short sighted. If you are asking do I believe in a character from the bible or any other man made image of the thing called god then No I do not. But if you are asking do I believe there is nothing higher than me in the universe, of this current reality then I have a much more open mind. I have never seen an Alien but I do hold the logic that life somewhere else in the universe could exists.

  • @Cybopath ; I'm kind of fed up with agnostics who are to cowardly to answer the question do you believe in God? The answer is simple. Yes or no .... So, what is your answer to the God question? Do you believe or do you not believe? I'm not trying to convert anyone to atheism either. I just get a little nauseated with the agnostic term. It's a fallacy and it's worthless.

  • @nogogma

My point is the ability to find out this answer to you is impossible. Quite frankly I'm fed up of some Athiests who are as closed minded as any Extremists Christian or Muslim on their 'beliefs'. Who spout their own scripture and wish to riducule or convert anyone who doesn't have the same 'beliefs' as them.
