    "Isn't this reducto ad absurdum?"

Yes it is (reductio ad absurdum). It's a particular mode of argumentation.

So what I'm getting here is that George is a douchebag who won't help his friend. Everyone agrees we should kick George's ass for being such a selfish sack of shit. Then the metaphor breaks down because in real life when you pay taxes you fund things that directly benefit you, such as roads and police and military protection and whatnot. And then we learn you shouldn't use force to, well, ENFORCE taxation because... well, wealth redistribution!

Anyway let's go kick George's ass. We voted on it.

At least in the comments to this video, thuggish responses like yours account for only a tiny minority. So you're mistaken when you say that 'everyone agrees' that getting your way through violence is acceptable.

"Do you really think it's impossible for taxes to be taken from you in a manner that involves no incarceration or violent punishments"

No. And that's a straw man. Since you still don't understand this simple idea I don't think anyone is going to gain from continuing this conversation.

Wage garnishment still involves violence and threats. It's just that the threats are passed to your employer. If your employer doesn't forward a cut of your work to Daddy Govt, his business gets threatened or he gets imprisoned.

"avoid war by providing workable alternatives"

    - I completely agree. Of course there's no magic spell to create world peace in a puff of smoke but, in my view, the antithesis of war is trade.

You are quite silly. Remember, reality isn't limited to what you mind can create or understand that is why I get to have a computer, Tv, vehicles, smartphones.. even though you could never make one from scratch. Inflation is a tax. Printing more money is a tax on everyone who holds the currency.

"Territorial disputes", aka gang wars, happen everywhere in the world, and not just between "boys".

The cause is a lack of the preference for peaceful resolution. The current situation with illicit drugs certainly encourages this as the peaceful means of resolution is denied by the bulk of society, but there's many other situations where peace is not considered a workable option.

The challenge, for those who prefer peace, is to avoid war by providing workable alternatives.
