I think the people who got cheated care, as well as others who don't lie on an application. The point is he knew she was not a palomino, he lied and cheated people out of placings that THEY paid for. Is that fair?
I think you people need to get a life. Seriously who cares whats done is done. The filly was accepted into both breeds. As for the owner, why not send in pics to both breeds if the color goes both ways. Might be accepted to both breeds may not be accepted in either one. Worth a shot. Obviously turned out to be in there favor! These people are just trying to promote their horses and their program. WS fees are not cheap especially in this economy. Regardless congrats on the wins!!
I lay the blame solely on the owner. You know the person who checked that little box on the PHBA reg form that says horse does NOT have a dorsal stripe? Ya that box. The fact that this person not only registered her falsley as TWO different colors then showed her in 2 different WS;s under TWO different colors? Yes blame falls solely on him
I cannot blame either the owner or associations more than the other! ! The assoc. need to do like apps and POA with a color council that goes and checks out questionable colored horse. The horse should have been registered either PHBA or ABRA/IBHA. However, the owner should have been responsible enough to pull the papers on this horse once the actual color was determined as a yearling. It is a matter of ethics on both parties shoulders.
Exactly, those saying he did nothing wrong are horribly mis-informed. On the PHBA foal registration application it asks does said horse have a dorsal strip he checked no, and only sent in a front shot of this filly for the application to PHBA. So they took that at face value he is wrong wrong and triple wrong for this deception.
Oh and the guy breeds for conformation?? PLEASE, nobody breeding for conformation would ever produce a horse with hocks that horrifically straight or that over at the knee. The judging in halter classes is a total farce half the horses that win have such horrific conformation they can barely hobble.
the horse is either one or the other, if its a palomino then the owner is cheating entering it in buckskin shows and should be banned from that association, if its buckskin then the owner is cheating entering it in palomino shows and should be banned from that association. If its neither then he needs banning from both
Personally I'd ban the owner from both associations for life on principle regardless of what the colour turns out to be. I hate cheats.
I say rules are rules and if ABRA does not accept (which they don't) palomino's with the dun gene, they just don't. It is no different than them turing away grey's, perlino's, cremello's. roans, and others that do indeed have a dun gene as well. They have simple color rules - buckskin (can have dun gene too "dunskin"), dun (as in bay dun), red dun, and grullo. It's not about if we agree, or disagree with the rules...just that rules are rules and should be followed & enforced for fairness.
Then why are you wasting time posting here? There are abiused horses to rescue. This is an issue that is not going to just go away and it shouldn't. It needs to be addressed and there are alot of people writing PHBA and conveying how they feel and its being looked into. Time will tell as they say/
You seem to be the one with hateful comments. Yes the horse was wrongly registered for a fact with PHBA. In the registration rules horses with a dorsal stripe are not able to be registered. She has one. Please tell me how that isn't wrongfully registered? He is a breeder, he *knows* the rules regardless of the blame they are trying to pass on to the associations.
