Just a couple of points,
*Fluffy fog is NOT what it's technically called (obviously). I guess that 'volumetric' would be more correct.
*Making it spawn 300 a second WILL damage the framerates in your map, I just used it for tutorial purposes because I wanted it to look pretty.

I talk about env_fog_controller and func_dustcloud in this tutorial.

Captions are now added to this tutorial, so you can make sense of it, even with the volume off.

Please let me know if there are any horrible problems with this tutorial, I kind of got bored of the dull blue colour scheme and didn't analyse it as rigorously as usual.

  • Is there at tutorial for the coastline-type large body of water? I've seen the tuturials for small pools of water...but the coastline effect in this vid is cool.

  • @enilc It's all just a trap. Turn around and there's nothing there.

    Try experimenting with displacements, it takes time, effort and experience to get cliffs and coastal areas looking right.

  • When I put some fog near water, even at 300 particles/second I have a big problem: No tree come out of the water :-(

  • I have a normal problem with fog (The one where it's done improperly). I need the color value for the fog to work. I have it on sky_day01_09. Help would be appreciated! Thanks, in advance if you help me.
