http://danielamerman.com/ What happens to retirement portfolios when the government can't pay for Social Security and Medicare, the real economy has moved to China, and tax rates are rising fast? Financial expert Daniel Amerman, CFA, introduces a different perspective on long term financial security.

  • I don't think this is possible because there are never two bubbles after each other. But it's possible.

Very admirable, it's extremely hard to advice people outside of the big firms, everybody is scared, they only want to listen to a 'respectable' bank or investing firm, that doesn't care about their money, only wants fees. People are soooooooooo stupid when it comes to investments....

  • @AlexanderGoldable Ah, but it's not a bubble, it's a 75% destruction of the value of the stock market in this example. This is what Keynes meant when he said not 1 person in a million understands how governments use inflation to confiscate wealth (loosely paraphrased). I am doing my best to educate is the most understandable terms which I can. Thanks for your reply and kind words!

  • we get a deflationary collapse before any of this happens

  • @peapod61 The problem isn't inflation OR deflation, but both at the same time. The idea that it has to be one or the other is a deadly dangerous, albeit common, mistake. You might want to watch my "Theory & Jargon" video for a longer explanation.

  • @wvolson That is the whole point of inflation, everybody has dollars but they just won't buy what they used to. There is an extensive history for this across many nations, but there is no history for uncontrollable deflation with fiat currencies. Zero, nada, zilch.

  • @copcorona I agree with what you are saying. However, dream on, it ain't gonna happen. Just like a county fair, all the "win a prize" games are rigged. The carnival will just pick up and move on after all the locals have been fleeced. Unfortunately, the Federal carnies never move on, they don't have to; they have the benefit of being able to use the government gun to keep stealing from us, and the mainstream media machine to keep convincing our fellow slaves to keep us all trapped.

  • Good message, but you did sound very patronising to begin with.

  • SPOT ON Daniel -- sounds like what happened in Mozambique-----Stock market soars,,as the common man searches for food and gold pieces to buy that food---HYPERINFLATION

  • @peapod61 deflation was a 90s and last decades story---Time for you to turn the page

  • if the DOW goes to 50,000 i'll be able to pay off my debts with only 1 thousand dollars invested today.

  • Would other countries copy the USA? would the same happen with the FTSE, or would the dollar be removed as the base currency for the world?

  • @AlexanderGoldable

    Heard that.

  • If you have time, I'd like to see/hear how you think a new Glass-Steagall would effect different assets if an Act like it were to be reinstated, I get the impression that the probability of change like this is coming?

  • @143DREWID I meant two bubbles of the same thing after eacht other, should have been clearer, sorry. And what's also interesting, gold has been money for thousands of years and not from 1970 - 2010. When gold becomes money again, for example with digital accounts and the physical gold it represents with independent banks, this could be an extreme positive in a gold bull market.

  • Damn genius video!!!

  • Whoa...
