  • great shot, now shoot down FOX news sattelites and CNN too!!!

  • yeah, congratulations, but they all complained when China did the same thing.

story about saving earth is bullshit , they just did more junk in the orbit, dangerous to other satellites

  • They didn't add "junk to orbit" it was hit on reentry. That's why the hit was so amazing, because it was proof that our "missile shield" could hit a warhead in terminal phase.

  • @Uejji ok, maybe but when proton rocket and others explode that is a lot of hydrazine... few grams that could possibley survive are not so big problem, maybe it would be cheaper to pay compensation if someone gets hit by the debrie than to shoot it down... it was demonstration of military power and I congratulate, it is just not right to lie to people

  • @dajsinjo The concern wasn't that hydrazine would burn up on reentry (of course it would, that's why it was no longer a concern after the satellite was destroyed... all debris would be safely destroyed upon reentry). The concern was that enough of the satellite would survive reentry that the hydrazine would survive the trip and be released into a population center or, worse, higher up into the atmosphere.

  • @Uejji hydrazine would burn up for sure on very high altitude so I don't belive it could post any risk, explosion probably accelerated some debris into higher orbit

  • @dajsinjo I realize this is an old comment, so you might not even see my reply. Also, others may have said this.

USA 193 was already deorbiting, which posed a risk to major population centers here on Earth. When USA 193 was destroyed, it was at an altitude low enough to guarantee reentry of debris.

  • @wtfyiseverynamtaken As I said in my comment, they say it was 139 miles up. Once it's there it costs 0$ to get it out of orbit as it will reenter by it's own pretty soon.

  • @SuperHoneycutt As it says in the video, that satellite was 139 miles up. No danger whatsoever as any debris will reenter the atmosphere in no time anyway. Would you pay almost a billion $ to recover a satellite?

  • SPACE WAR!!!!!!!!

  • Why not use a space shutte to recover this satellite ? Were they really sending a signal to china, or Russia, or some other country ? Now the space shuttle missions are over , and maybe for the foreseable future. Seems a little risky to be blowing up satellites, risking contamination of space with the debris..,.

  • @Dogzforgodz whatever. its still has a fake backstory.
