Fantastic brings back very happy memories of my childhood days at Liverpool Speke airport spotting.... aircraft seemed much more interesting in those day compared to the boring stuff around now....was the Britannia not one of Britannia Airways,
Nick.

@clakrgore Thanks for posting this wonderful video
@glasgowbrian It's definitely a Bristol Britannia but like you I can't identify the airline. It doesn't seem to have any fuselage titles and my guess is that it's an ex-military aircraft being used as a freighter although I could easily be wrong.

I think the big 4 engined prop in the middle of the video was a bristol brittania.. had some kind of logo on the tail but couldnt make out which airline it was

Never believed my gran when she used to tell me there used to be an airport at the back of her house in Gallowhill as I had only ever known Abbotsinch

Great footage , takes me back to my childhood. I'll never forget the noise of the departing Dan Air Avro Yorks , and the Aer Lingus Carvairs ! Thanks for posting.

A British Midland Herald at 1:50! Amazing!
oh wow this is amazing!! I lived on arkleston estate for 25 years since a child and this was built on the runway of abbotsinch airport. All our streets were named after the planes Herald Way Viscount way so it's amazing to see these actual planes. Thanks for posting film!
