Good orientation to two kinds of embraces. The close embrace is sometimes just too much for 'weak Americans' who are just learning tango (just kidding about 'weak Americans'!). Both kinds of embraces have there purpose. For fancy stage tango, sometimes you need an open embrace. For dancing at a crowded milonga, the close embrace is probably best if your partner is ready for it!
