60 Minute (2009) piece on Harry Markopolos, the man who first tried to blow the whistle on Bernie Madoff. He was scoffed at for suggesting that a person as powerful and successful as Madoff could be a fraud. This is a lesson for all those who think that certain people are above reproach or suspicion. Even though I think the folks who suggest that President Obama was not born in the US are way off base (if not obsessed), I think that every suspicion should be investigated and either confirmed or proven wrong.

  • This goes WAY beyond Madoff - who was just a front man / fall guy. Where is the money ? How do you spend $50 billion ? Surely Ruth Madoff didn't spend it all on shoes & handbags ?

That kind of money could buy a lot of weapons for Israel.

  • @nfnkalyan lol..good point..

  • Bernie Madoff wasn't an important insider. The real big time criminals are unknown and run Wall Street from behind the scene.

  • The quality of people running this country has declined dramatically, particularly since the Reagan Presidency.

  • how many people out there have actually watched chasing madoff ? , seems i cant buy it hiire it or even go to the cinema to watch it . mmmmmmmmmm :)

  • @nfnkalyan

lol, the classes he listed are all basic math courses that I took in my first 2 years of college. He thinks he's so clever.

  • This guy is no holds bar- he doesn't sugar coat it, "because people in glass houses don't throw stones", "I had a financial interest in turning him in," and my favorite was how the SEC could be shown fraud and still not see it.

  • @pmanisc that made me laugh. good comment. thanks.

  • @nfnkalyan as he should be

  • Is this man now employed by the SEC to train numbers people?
