Hence why I drive when I go from the lower Blue mountains to Port Macquarie, I drive I can leave at 8am get there about 1.30pm with a break half way, Take the Grafton XPT leave home cath the 9.12am train to central to meet the 11.30 XPT only for it to get into Kendall at 6pm which is still 30min drive from my destination 5 and a half hours to drive 8+ hours by train you choose (I dont mind the overnight XPT with a sleeper for the trip though)
