How come the EAS layout I get looks like a community chest card from monopoly. It's a blue box with a red line in the outside. With the counties in white in the center of the box? I want the original one with the black screen
-
whos your tv system provider, what equipment do you have, cable box, dvr? tivo? if so, what brand.
-
Intresting thing to note:
I'm not sure, if this applies for tests or not, but FCC EAS rules state that the audio of a stations broadcast must be muted during the broadcast of an EAS message, including the attention signal.
As you can hear, this station did not do that properly.
-
that was the same tone that preceded it, recorded off the initial broadcast from the local primary EAS relay station, except it was greatly distorted,
-
CableOne always uses that tone at 38 seconds so its nothing new to me
Does this kind of EAS air across Arizona, or is it cable provider specific?

rumbazz, this was a statewide test. I have Cox Communications, and they have a simple, 80's computer-like, white, pixely text.

Wow I never have heard a sound like that at the 38 second mark!

Yeah, skitz. I am about a year or so into the EAS, and never have I come across a tone similar to that.
