Toyed around with Windows movie maker and made a video about one of my all time favorite games "Descent2". This would not be possible without the D2x-xl mulator as the game Descent itself isn't compatible with Windows Xp anymore.. Best old school battles ever, $5.00 pizzas, pack of PBR and an ethernet daisy chain connecting a bunchof CPUs together.... now that was old school.

@m4dMarty Have you ever played D3? The demo show the game to be far more davanced, as far as graphics, details map designs and robots. This is even more different in ways still hardly worth mentioning. I've played this, the first and the demo of the third. I know none is truly alike. So I gues you're right.

hey i have descent 2 on my xp comp. i tried to use d2x xl but it some how says i am missing a valid hog file when im using the full version on installation crazy can you help me???!!!!!

Oops - the insanely fast spinning powerups bug ... never could reproduce it. Nice vid. All fx maxed out, right? What D2X-XL version has it been recorded with?

Well It sure isn't D3, but indeed it's not very D2 anymore either.. Almost everything has been polished (weapons, walltextures, etc) and they also added some new features like lasertrails and stuff. To be honest D3 still looks quite different so I wonder if you've ever played it.:D

Hello Karx11erx..thanks. Yeah I have that bug now and then..it's not really bothering though. Well strangely I have played it under different settings as were visible in the vid. I've been changing settings after I recorded the demo and used Fraps to make the vid and afterwards noticed that shadows were on in the vid aswell as the lasertrails.. This is very nice and yeah everything was pretty much maxed out.. I've found a zip file that mentions 1.11.123.. so I guess that's my version.
