I landed in Burbank this summer. I guess I had a poor pilot from US air. We landed so hard that I thought we blew the landing gear! That was in an Airbus 319. I like the airport but it must give many pilots panic attacks when landing! That is one small airport! You guys need arresting gear!

proud to say this is my home airport i live 2 blocks from the airport i see these planes land and takeoff everyday its so cool seeing them every day for an aspiring airline pilot myself it makes me want to fly out of this airport one day

american airlines at the end had a crazy lift. thats why i hate flying on those. all the pilots who fly them are ex navy air craft landers so since the MD-88 has the same joy stick they seem to loose there minds on take off and landing

@Juliansworld well most airports are usually equipt with a runway that can handle a heavy landing by a 747 according to F A A laws. however when it comes to small airport like this they'll have a runway for both sized planes (and considering wind and degree's)

Landing firm at BUR is a means of mitigating overrun risk, both in good and inclement weather. It increases the length of usable braking runway.
