  • They should be held up as the gold standard for an awesome marriage. I hate that fat-guy-skinny-wife or dumb-guy-smart-wife, or man is pussy-whipped, ex-wife is a bitch bullshit in modern media, and the total infantilisation of men and the depiction of women as shrill evil humorless harpies. We need more examples of good successful marriages where both spouses are equally cool people.

  • "It's not true. He didn't come anywhere near my tabloids."

I don't care how many time's I hear it, it still makes me laugh. <3

  • I wish i could find a man like Nick Charles! That's a perfect marriage

  • "I won't stay in quarantine! I don't care who catches it!" Love it.

  • You left out two great ones, both from "The Thin Man:" Nora: "What is that man doing in my drawers?" and Lt.Gill to Nick: "Ever heard of the Sullivan Act?" Nora: "Oh, that's all right; we're married."

  • @Setebos I'd be happy finding one first, then I'll work at holding onto her. But you maybe right.

  • Actually that's a pretty sharp move at 1:45. If I'd been in Nick's bed slippers then I would have never thought of that.

  • @Cavillier1970 --- they do, but you have to be a detective like Nick Charles to find them. (And you have to be Nick Charles to hold onto one once you've found her.)

  • Nora: Nick! Nicky!! You asleep?

    Nick: Yes.

Nora: Good, I want to talk to you.

    LOL! Nora's adorable.

  • @Chizpurfle52595 -- Yes, it is said that millions of those famous golden marriages of the 30s and 40s were actually inspired and sustained by the Thin Man films.

  • I want a marriage like Nick and Nora Charles'. :D
