Thank you Sir for the information. I will research this Maiden of Yue... Do you know of any other related information? Oh and yes I have quit training with that instructor (many reasons). He taught forms well but I am demonstrating this form for students in a slow(and lackluster) fashion. Primarily I am a Hapkido Master but I love Kung Fu as well. I would apreciate any information or sugestion for research on the ancient Sleeing Lion.

Thanks I like it too...

I dont know much of its origins except its old Kung Fu. I learned just this form and a blocking drill contained in this form from a secretive teacher. I told him I dont want to know things I couldn't tell everyone because I dont want to keep track of what I can and cannot teach. I keep no secrets (they are all inside the human body anyways)and I teach all I can to my students... The result, I know little of the origins of this form. It Perhaps predates Shaolin?

The form is butchered. Sleeping Lion techniques date back to 5th century BC, even sited in the story of Maiden of Yue.

Stop learning from the man that is teaching you. Find someone who stresses form. Then start over.
