Ontario's green energy plan was heralded as huge step forward for the province's green future, but is it delivering what was promised?

  • @MultiTacs - feel free to start breathing CO2 and leave the O2 for the rest of us, if you think CO2 is a non-issue. And check your facts: Germany has gone the most "Green" in their building standards and retrofits, and in general energy production, including the ending of nukes. And they have a very strong economy. Spain has financial trouble, same as the USA, and neither because of "Green" issues.

  • The things discussed in the video are relevant to us right now but there should also be a focus on the long term effects that the change to greener energy provides. Is it that terrible to pay more for energy if it allows future generations to have pure water to drink and clean air to breathe?

  • Respond to this video...Get off telling us how much energy we can or can use its called freedom, there is no environmental cost to using energy CO2 is a scam.

  • @OSediqi These countries are going broke because they bought into this garbage.

  • This is nothing more then an invasion of our freedom, why are gov'ts and energy generators punishing me? Why are we not building more generations, is this just another consequence of the Co2 scam? Its such and ideological game. Ontario is going to lose just like Spain has. Why do we never learn?

  • To see the impact of the Green Energy Act we should look at countries such as Germany, Spain, and Italy. They have Feed In Tariffs (FIT) for more then 8 years by now. This countries also started with a highly subsidized FIT, but technology improvements, learning curves, and economy of scale, helped Germany to reach parity from Solar-PV with other sources of energy productions in 2011.

If we are consistent with the FIT, we will archive competitive prices from renewable energy sources in future.

  • Check out Environmental Commission of Ontario, Gord Miller, gloating over the Green Energy Act at time stamp 44:30. He argues that the fact that the Japanese have complained about the protectionist aspects of the Act proves that the Act is a success, attracting international attention and not harming Ontario's industrial output. Fortunately, Professor Dewees stepped in pointing out that Ontario has a trading economy, deflating Miller's jingoism and economic carelessness.
