  • "Sauron is the enemy"

    I lol'd.

  • About integrating translations into text on screen.

I think the behaviour may stem over from fan manga-translations where the practice is more common, for things like onomatopoeia or signs.

  • I don't mind honorifics, it depends on the context. I don't mind them putting their name/website if it's small and barely noticable but I completely agree flashy fonts and effects are just stupid.

  • Dominique Unpronounceable-Name brings up a good point.

  • Principales errores de los fansubs:

*Usar colores de los mas variados para subtitulos

*Usar karaokes y agregarles efectos (no respetan openings/endings limpios tal cual son emitidos en japon)

*Demasiadas aclaraciones con agregados innecesarios como recuadros

*Traduccion pobre (por la ridicules de ser el primero que saca el episodio antes que los demas se cometen errores)

PD: Cuando estaba en la secundaria colabore con varios fansubs, y estos fueron y seguiran siendo los mas graves errores hay.

  • @bobdonda The only one who is incompetent is Otaking.

  • When you mentioned Moulin Rouge it gave me a thought- when Moulin Rouge was released in Japan, was it subtitled or dubbed? I'd be curious to know if their subs contain info notes and whatnot by keeping it close to English or if they just translate into Japanese with Japanese jokes and Japanese meanings.

  • I wonder why the Street Fighter 2 anime in your video translated Shoryuken into Dragon Punch but didn't translate Hadouken.

  • @bobdonda Well, eh... all gang members usually are members of gangs if they refer to themselves as gang members.

  • @1waitandbleed1 not really, because he never claims that all fansubbers do a shitty job as seen in these videos.

what it is like, is him saying "all gang members are members of gangs". he's calling out the incompetent ones.

  • This feels less like a documentary and more of a rant at this point.
