first a kevlar helmet is shot from 50 yards with a sks with a cheap receiver cover scope, plates had to be removed and could not be shown due to reasons of war time national security patriot act bow shat

then a kevlar vest is shot from 5 yards

ammo used was

This kinda makes you wonder why they bother wearing it at all, 1 they don't stand there 2 the usually have ceramic plates or steel to reinforce vital areas.

Kevlar is laminated in piles fyi 29 of them in pasgt gear.

30call fmj goes through 3/4 steel 3006 mind you but 30cal is not easily stopped.

The bullet it pointed so it slips through or penetrates kevlar, a fat or even rounded bullet like 9mm usually gets caught.

I am personally disgusted that US Army uses this poor armor that is all.

The Kevlar is stronger but it covers less of your head.

@Warpath2198 Well technically the Level IV vests stop rifle rounds only on the area protected by steel, titanium, or ceramic plates. The rest of the vests is usually Level III kevlar (or similar material) and will generally not stop rifle rounds. As far as I'm aware, there are no "soft" body armor vests that can stop rifle rounds. The closest is the Dragon Skin vest but it reportedly has issues in hot climates with ceramic disks moving out of place and nullifying protective properties.
